In a recent interview, Jihyun discussed her current relationship with her former group members and her new beginning as an actress. Now active under the name Son Ji Hyun, the ex-girl group idol said that she still feels like a rookie as an actress. Shortly after 4minute's disbandment in June of 2016, Jihyun said that she felt "empty," almost wanting to "let go of everything." Nevertheless, she made two successful appearances in dramas, helping her steadily gain a new image as an actress.
Regarding the relationship between the former 4minute members, Jihyun said that there were feelings of sorrow at first, especially with HyunA. HyunA was the only one who had re-signed with Cube Entertainment, generating mixed feelings for the group. However, Jihyun said, "As time goes by, I have come to understand HyunA more and more." Each member had had her own path, and Jihyun was able to recognize them in time. "Our (Kakao) group chat is still alive," shared Jihyun.
Despite the ongoing new life of Jihyun, she also expressed that she misses her days as a singer. "I would sometimes look up old videos of myself, even though it's obvious that I can't turn back time. I am walking a whole new path now."
