The SM founding chairman talked about the rapid growth of technology and stated, "I believe a massive virtual world will be created in the future." He added, "An avatar world will come where we will be living with AI robots that have the exact same looks, personalities, and talents as celebrities. We will be able to enjoy cultural content while living with the AI celebrities."
SM Entertainment revealed to be investing in AI technology in preparation for the AI entertainment generation. In June, SM has established AI Stars in Hong Kong with professional AI company ObEN.
Lee Soo Man continued talking about the AI generation, and said, "If South Korea becomes a country with a great influence on the AI generation, the nation will become more powerful than a nation with over 1 billion in population." He added, "With the increased amount of AI celebrities, they will become very real but even in that world, the original celebrity will always only be one. The role of the original celebrity and entertainment agency will actually become more crucial."
