On the December 13 airing of MBC's 'Radio Star', Eric Nam shared about the time he rejected an invite by top model Barbara Palvin for comedian Kim Shin Young.
Eric Nam explained, "I interviewed Barbara Palvin for 'Section TV'. That day, we (the 'Section TV' crew) had our first team dinner. Kim Shin Young noona told us that everyone needs to come. I was a rookie at the time and wasn't too familiar with Korean culture. I believed it would be a mistake if I don't go when a sunbae invited me."

He shared he ended up rejecting an invite sent by Barbara Palvin to attend the team dinner. When he arrived at the dinner, Kim Shin Young expressed shock at Eric Nam for choosing her over Barbara Palvin, and asked, "Are you crazy?"
