In the membership kit goods notice and preview, YMC Entertainment states, "The Wanna One official fanclub kit filled with aqua pearl gray! It is the most precious and unique gift only made for Wannables."
Fans of Wanna One who saw the notice from the fanclub began spreading posts online, saying, "Why did you all beat us up. Wannables kept saying that those other colors weren't our official colors. Don't you feel bad now?"
They also included, "Just in case [Wannables] start fighting with SHINee fans, SHINee's colors are pearl aqua green!"
Wanna One have a history of bad beef with several different fandoms regarding official colors, including with Seventeen, with ASTRO, and more.
While there has been no official notice from YMC Entertainment as to whether or not aqua pearl gray has decidedly become Wanna One's official color, the color is one fans have been pushing and promoting as the desired official color of the fandom for some time now. The meaning of the color is "We meet in the summer and part ways in the winter." The aqua color represents summer, and the gray color represents winter.
Comments from other netizens about the ongoing issue included, "This color will definitely cause a stir once an official lightstick comes out around 'Dream Concert'", "So they used up the other colors as much as they wanted and now they're moving on to something new", "It's... g.o.d's color", "Picking a fight with other fandoms who complained about their other colors is not going to help you", "Why can't Wanna One's label just come out and say things straight up", "Honestly there's a sour taste in my mouth but I'd rather just say congratulations on the new color and be done with it", etc.
The official fanclub goods do come mixed with other colors aside from aqua pearl gray. The fan booklet also includes hues of pink, reminiscent of the female version of 'Produce 101'.
What do you think about the fan-wanted color, aqua pearl gray? Do you think this may put an end to the ongoing controversies?
