On the other hand, Chinese netizens defended the idol and commented, "Why are they reacting so sensitive to just one word?", "I actually like him more now."

The current controversy is similar to the issues involving�Tzuyu. Soon after her debut, the TWICE member was�criticized by the Chinese netizens for identifying herself as Taiwanese. To this, JYP Entertainment and Tzuyu shared an official apology.�
