The Big Bang members recounted their fond memories from the past 10 years of their music career during an interview with Newsis on December 13.
G-Dragon said about the last 10 years, "It was quite fun and fulfilling...Every moment wasn't a happy moment; we had some issues, but we overcame them all. With the support of many people, we grew musically as well."
When asked about the evolution of Big Bang's music genre, G-Dragon explained, "For genres, we like to keep changing, and as we study music, our music also changes. I think we should continue to change. One team sticking with one genre gives the group a clear identity, however, that is not the direction of Big Bang. Bringing different genres of music is the most Big Bang thing to do and also a challenge while being fun for us."
The topic of many idol groups disbanding or losing members also came up. Big Bang confessed that they have mixed emotions as they watch the changes unfold.
G-Dragon stated, "That could happen to us too. But to prevent it we respect and sacrifice for one another and love one another, so we could make it 10 years together. We are lucky to have good people around us. From Yang Hyun Suk who has a great eye for what can become popular and everyone who works with us are all precious to us. It is hard for us to fail because we have great people surrounding us." T.O.P also explained why the group could stay together, saying, "We're all such different personalities that we compliment each other. We've never had a serious argument."
Regarding what is to come, G-Dragon shared, "We have done well so far, but we know that it won't always be like that. We know that very well. As much as we've climbed up, we know that we can fall at any moment. We are not nervous or anxious about falling, but we feel unsettled because nobody knows what the future holds. We don't know what the next 10 years will be like."
But when asked how their present reality compares to what they imagined when they debuted 10 years ago, all the members agreed that it was better than their imagination. Taeyang said, "We are living what we could only dream."
T.O.P stated, "Our dream is to make albums and do concerts for a long time, like the Rolling Stones. We want to meet fans all over the world. We are thankful to go on stage."
