YG Entertainment's new girl group Black Pink reveal meaning of their group name

YG Entertainment's long, long, long-awaited girl group has finally been unveiled, and now we know that the group's 4 beautiful members - Jennie Kim, Lisa, Rosé, and Jisoo - will be making their debut soon as Black Pink! 


On June 28, a rep of YG provided more details regarding the rookie group, including the meaning behind the unique group name. The rep stated, "The meaning of Black Pink aims to contradict the common perception of the color pink. Pink is commonly used to portray prettiness, but Black Pink actually means to say that 'Pretty isn't everything'. It also symbolizes that they are a team that encompasses not only beauty, but also great talent."

Great Talent is Right!!!....just came from the concert in the Osaka Dome....Dec 24th 2018! 55,000 Blinks.....loving the girls! Best thing about the concert was....the girls! They performed splendidly! Absolutely adorable! And they can really sing! And then the crowd serenated them with "STAY" this song! 55,000....singing to them! Was beautiful!!! The girls were crying their eyes out!!! Me too!!! The Girls were fantastic! They all spoke fluent Japanese....I mean what the hey! Can they do everything??
