According to reports by Herald POP, YGE gained a total of 9.4 billion KRW (~8.2 million USD) in operating profit for the 1st quarter of 2016. This is a 32.6% increase since last year, and the highest profit earned since the label's establishment in 1996.
SM Entertainment's operation profit for the 1st quarter came out at 9 billion KRW (~7.7 million USD), a 139.8% increase since last year.

In addition, SM Entertainment also marked its highest sales profit this 1st quarter of 2016 by earning a total of 90.5 billion KRW (~77 million USD). YG Entertainment's total sales profit reached 72.9 billion KRW (~61.6 million USD), an incredible 64.3% increase since the prior year. While SM Entertainment's sales profits were divided between overseas market sales and SM C&C's drama production market sales, while YG Entertainment's focused on domestic and overseas market sales.
