Korean reserve officers have proven to be honorable soldiers by saving an elderly man who had passed out on the streets of Gwangju.
Reportedly, back on March 16, Han Min Hee, Song Sung Min, Park Byung Kook, Kim Tae Hoon, Lee Chang Min, and Park Hyung Jun saved the life of a man in his 70's at Green Park. The soldiers were on their way to training when they discovered the man on the ground with blood dripping from his face.
Without hesitation, they ran over and gave him emergency treatment. Soldier Han Min Hee happened to have experience as a physical therapist, so he undid the unconscious man's belt in order to help him breathe. Afterwards, he massaged the man's limbs to aid blood circulation.
To help the man retain his consciousness, the others continued to talk to him persistently and dialed 119 (Korean equivalent to 911). They even helped the ambulance find its way by heading to the big streets where they could be seen more easily.
Soldier Han Min Hee said, "It's been awhile since we got to wear our full combat uniforms, so I think it was even more meaningful that we got to help the grandfather as reserve soldiers."
Thanks to the soldiers' quick actions, the elderly man was moved to a hospital where he received treatment and fortunately suffered no life-threatening injuries.
