The Korea Communications Standards Commission (KCSC) revealed on February 4 that they have decided to suspend the accounts of 6 BJs (broadcast jockeys) for their extreme usage of expletives and derogatory, discriminatory language toward people with disabilities.
The 6 BJs, including the popular BJ Selli, who had previously received backlash for her crass attitude towards viewers, were reported to the committee for review. The head of the committee and five other members unanimously ruled that the BJs' accounts be suspended.
Account suspension is corrective action that is just one step below account termination. The corrective action requires AfreecaTV (Korean streaming service similar to Twitch) to suspend the BJs' accounts for a select period of time, the length of which will be left completely up for AfreecaTV to decide.

An AfreecaTV rep relayed, "The company's education of the BJs were inadequate. We will be more alert from now on and make certain that we enforce a stricter monitoring system."
