Here are the songs I play in the morning while getting ready for the day, while sitting on the bus to work, during work as I type away sippin' on my coffee, then at night in my bed before I fall asleep.
While some of them are recent addictions of mine and others are songs that I've probably replayed countless of times throughout the years, here is my current top 10 songs playlist.
10. Humming Urban Stereo - "Insomnia"
How can music sound so darn pretty? As I play this at night, the instrumentals and soft vocals featuring NS Yoon-G never fail to calm my mind as I wind down from a busy day. The title says "Insomnia," but ironically it helps me relax and slip into slumber.
9. Lee Jin Ah - "Time Slow Down"
I'm a sucker for jazz-inspired music, and oh gosh you have to be able to appreciate the artistry in this self-composed song by 'K-Pop Star 4's finalist Lee Jin Ah. I haven't grown tired of it yet and maybe I never will!
8. Leessang - "Turned off the TV"
This song is officially on my "can never get tired of" list. Also being a sucker for hip-hop, rap, and indie, I gotta love how the hip-hop duo combines itself with indie singer Jungyeol of 10cm perfectly for a catchy and sensational track.
7. Gray - "Just Do It"
If music were food, this right here is the ultimate satisfaction to my cravings. I'm being dead serious... The beat and groove of this song is too swag-a-licious, like yum (too much? sorry guys can't help it).
6. Big Bang - "Café"
Hands down, this is one of my favorites from Big Bang. Listen to T.O.P's deep voice contrasted with G-Dragon's falsetto with everyone in-between - they all sound like they're tryna seduce you! The sexy beats with their sexy voices makes this a sexy song, which is why I never skip this song on my music player.
5. Yozoh - "Nostalgia"
I honestly forgot how I discovered this gem right here, but all I know is that I downloaded the file right away and had it in my iPod ever since. I'm actually very excited I get to share it with whoever is reading this, 'cause it's really a lovely song. Enjoy, enjoy!
4. Brown Eyed Girls - "My Style"
Heard this back in 2008, and I listen to it religiously. I don't know if it's the light beats, soft vocals or endearing lyrics, but it gives me a certain type of feeling I still quite can't explain. All I know is that it is delight to my ears. Anyone else relate?
3. Bumkey - "My Everything"
"I'd rather have bad times with you than good by myself. 'cause you are my soul, my song, my love, my everything." I. Love. This. Song. The lyrics shine because of its sincerity and you can't help but to think of a loved one. I'll definitely be listening to this song even years from now.
2. Park Bom - "You and I"
Every time this song comes on it warms my heart. For me, it's the equivalent to Alicia Keys's "If I Ain't Got You" as it makes me belt out the chorus when listening alone (or when I'm singing it in a noisy karaoke room). Fills up my emotions, I swear.
1. Zion.T - "Eat"
This song has done wonders for me. Not only is it a great composed song, but the lyrics reminds us to be strong even in ways that seem rather mundane, like not forgetting a meal. Throughout any hardships or struggles you may be going through or will go through, remember that even a tiny step is still progress... so don't forget to take care of yourself and do as Zion.T advises: eat!
