If you have been keeping up with 'SMTM 4,' then you probably know that the last episode ended on a precarious cliffhanger. The judges declared at the end that through a cypher, a total of four contestants would be dropped from the show. As the contestants were recovering from the shock of this unexpected turn of events, they were even more shocked with the special guest appearance of Snoop Dogg!
The west coast rapper had landed in Korea to personally judge the talent on 'SMTM 4' and pinpoint whom he considers the best. The cypher ran for a total of ten minutes, and if they didn't get to squeeze in their lines among all the contestants within those 10 minutes, they would automatically be eliminated. Once the beat dropped, the rappers were busy grabbing for the mic, anxious to prove all they got in the short amount of time allotted. However, the mic wasn't so easily obtained, as the ratio of rapper to mic was 28:1.
Microdot, one of the contestants with a bigger build, managed to get ahold of the mic using his physical strength. He rapped rapid-fire into the mic as soon as he snatched it and continued his freestyle even after the production crew stopped the beat to control the rowdy contestants. Snoop was reported to have said, "Microdot is really good. He's strong," evidently impressed by Microdot's rap game. Snoop Dogg also praised Lil Boi, saying, "I liked his style, his delivery. Even before I heard him I knew he was going to be something dope. Just certain things about a MC that you just know," and One, saying, "One was good, One was dope."
Microdot wasn't the only contestant to leave a lasting impression on Snoop Dogg. Many others exhibited their talent and managed to earn praises from the guest judge, among them WINNER's Mino. Snoop Dogg raved, "He's good. He's like a wild card. I think he'll keep on going up. I can just see something [in him]."
Snoop Dogg also complimented a couple of the other rappers including Basick and Black Nut, overall seeming "thoroughly impressed" by most of the crowd.
