Epik High's Tablo dished on some details of the new sub-label for the first time, and reassured fans that Epik High is staying with YG Entertainment!
If you didn't catch the previous report, Yang Hyun Suk revealed that he had decided to appoint Epik High to run a new sub-label with Tablo has the head. It turns out, this new label is called 'High Ground', and it'll be catering to not just underground hip hop, as previously reported, but all different genres.
On MBC FM4U's 'Tablo's Dreaming Radio', Tablo said about the new sub-label, "Since Epik High is a hip-hop group and I'm a rapper, it's a given that everyone thinks of the label as being hip-hop. However, it will become a label about all genres. High Ground will be a label with a variety of different musicians."
Tablo also talked about how the label's name came to be, revealing that he himself chose the name 'High Ground' because the label is not about underground or overground, but about quality music.
In addition, he reassured those who worried that the group was switching over completely to the sub-label, by saying, "Epik High will remain as an artist under YG. 'High Ground' will be managed by me and will be like a life-companion to the artists it manages. It's not that Epik HIgh is leaving YG Entertainment."
