Actress Choi Kang Hee recently shared an update on her self-improvement journey, revealing that she has started studying literacy after undergoing an ADHD test and psychological therapy.
On April 2, a video titled "It Seems Like I Want to Spread the Word: Favorite Items (Featuring: Stream of Consciousness)" was uploaded to Choi Kang Hee’s YouTube channel. In the video, she candidly discussed her latest hobbies and efforts toward self-development.
Filming from her home, Choi introduced her newfound passion for tea, saying, "I’ve developed a new hobby. These days, I prefer tea over coffee." She explained that her interest in tea started after receiving a gift from director Kim Tae Yong and went on to showcase her diverse tea collection.
Books on literacy improvement were also spotted in her home. Choi admitted, "Lately, I’ve been studying. I read a sentence and try to comprehend its meaning." She pointed out how excessive smartphone use has led to a decline in reading comprehension, even among educated individuals. "I took a literacy test, and my level was assessed as that of a middle school student. So, I bought books for middle schoolers and started studying. My curiosity expanded from there. As I was reading about geographical coordinates like latitude and longitude, I realized I didn’t fully understand them," she shared.

During the discussion, a crew member noticed a question in her book and asked if she had gotten any answers wrong. Embarrassed, Choi quickly covered the page. Laughing it off, she continued, "Anyway, I became fascinated by the Earth. I started looking into models to understand how the Earth, the Moon, and the Sun move."
Meanwhile, Choi also opened up about her experience with ADHD testing. She recalled that after appearing on MBC’s 'Point of Omniscient Interfere' last year, many viewers suggested she visit a doctor. "People found me cute, but there were also a lot of comments urging me to get checked. They said I should get an ADHD test. I guess my behavior, like suddenly doing a headstand in the middle of something, seemed suspicious to them," she said. Choi eventually underwent ADHD testing and psychological therapy, later discovering a passion for art therapy, which she described as a source of peace and relaxation.
Choi Kang Hee’s candid revelations about her self-improvement journey have resonated with many, highlighting the importance of continuous learning and personal exploration.
