On April 2, Soyeon, a member of (G)I-DLE, shared a glimpse into her solo dining life through her Instagram story, posting a video without any captions.

In the video, Soyeon appears to be preparing a meal in her home, seemingly eating alone. She is seen frying pork belly in a frying pan, but what caught the eye of fans was the very small portion she was cooking. The amount of pork belly appeared to be quite minimal, and the individual pieces of meat were also quite small, leading fans to double-check the video in surprise.
Soyeon, who has been known for her bold personality, stirred controversy last August during a solo stage at (G)I-DLE's concert when she performed a bold remix of her song, changing the lyrics to "Why should I care about that s**t?" and "Contract ends in November. Who’s gonna stop me?" This daring act sparked a lot of attention, especially regarding her contract and future with the group. At the '2024 MAMA Awards,' Soyeon made another statement in her rap, saying, "I wouldn't have come this far if I had been affected by stuff like contracts and companies," fueling speculation about her upcoming contract renewal.
While these daring moves raised some concerns among her fans, Soyeon eased those worries during her appearance at the '2024 Melon Music Awards' on November 30, when she publicly stated, "A lot of articles said that (G)I-DLE would disband or end because my contract was over, but it’s not just me — all five of us have decided to renew our contracts together." Her announcement received cheers from both fans and fellow artists present at the event.
