Although Seo Kang Jun already revealed he was cast in upcoming historical drama, 'Hwajung', with his recent pictorial and interview with 'Harper's Bazaar', MBC confirmed this fact once more on March 3.
MBC stated, "Seo Kang Jun is confirmed for MBC's new Monday-Tuesday drama, 'Hwajung', and is planning to give an enthusiastic performance."
He will be playing a seemingly cold but good-looking man. Although it sounds like a role similar to the ones he's played before, we can't think of any reason to complain since he seems to fit the role so well! Still, it's a historical drama, so there's bound to be some change! However, it appears he might have another unsuccessful, one-sided love.
His character, Hong Joo Won, falls into a tragic love with Princess Jungmyung, played by Lee Yeon Hee, fighting for her affection with Gwang Hae, played by Cha Seung Won.

On being given the role, Seo Kang Jun said, "I'm very grateful for being given the chance to act in a good production. I'm nervous because it is my first historical drama, I am studying the character and production even more diligently because I think I need to do well. I'm happy because I think I'd be able to show a character different from the ones I've shown so far. I will always do my best to show a developed self through 'Hwajung.'"
Fans can't wait to see him on the small screen again! Are you excited to see him in a historical drama?
