Korea's Supreme Court has recently sentenced a Mr. Kim to jail for five years for assaulting and raping his foreign wife who is in her 20's.

Mr. Kim, who will be turning 50 this year, married his young bride back in December 2012 in Southwest Asia. The following year, his wife immigrated to Korea and the couple lived in Jeju Island together. Yet as soon as they arrived in Korea, the abuse began. After three months of suffering, the wife requested for help.
In this span of 3 months, Mr. Kim allegedly raped his wife 10 times, took pictures of her naked body, and assaulted her by hitting her cheek and head.
Mr. Kim had denied these charges, saying, "As a married couple we only had normal sexual relations."
The Department of Justice, however, seems convinced by the wife's allegations, as they have stated, "The foreign wife's statement was consistent, and if she had not personally experienced it, it would have been difficult to give a statement about such content, but her [statement] was detailed and seemed truthful."
The Supreme Court had ruled in favor of the wife, following through with their previous statement made back in May: "Although couples have certain sexual responsibilities, no one is obligated to endure violent treatment and forced sex."
