On the July 30 airing of SBS's "One Night of TV Entertainment", Seo Se Won's side explained that the public perception of Seo Se Won assaulting his wife was misguided, and that the CCTV clip was possibly even edited.

In the CCTV clip (seen above), although we can see Seo Se Won dragging his wife Seo Jung Hee by the leg, we can also see a group of men following the pair and getting in the elevator with them. These men, who were at the scene of the incident, have spoken up on Seo Se Won's behalf, saying, "Seo Se Won is preparing to make his statement. There are a lot of differences between what was reported and the truth. We don't know why, but the CCTV clip seems to have been heavily edited."
They explained their version of the truth, saying, "That was from the CCTV's point of view. Seo Jung Hee was screaming that some rough-looking person was trying to kidnap her, but we weren't able to catch him. Afterwards, Seo Jung Hee's manager even took her [to the hospital] by ambulance."
Although their statement is a bit vague, it's possible that they're justifying Seo Se Won dragging his wife by the leg as his attempt to save her from being kidnapped. By claiming that the CCTV clip was edited, they're suggesting that a key portion of the whole incident--in which Seo Jung Hee was being kidnapped--was cut out.
To explain why they did not report this story earlier, they stated, "We wanted to reach a solution peacefully; as it's a problem between the couple, we didn't want to take action and just let it pass over quietly. But because [the public only knows one side of the story], we are preparing a statement."
