SISTAR: The Group That Never Stops
Every group in K-pop works their butts off because if they don't, they'll be left behind in a cloud of dust from the other groups but seriously, does SISTAR ever stop? If you include SISTAR19, I think they've continuously been promoting songs going back to the beginning of 2012 and that streak will surely continue with today's release of "Give it to Me". I'm sure they're all running on fumes but you need to capitalize on your popularity when you can so suck it up a little more ladies; when you're old like me, you'll wish you were still as popular.
After School Teaser Video + Teaser Photos = Nearly Collapsed Uncle Fan
Last week I wrote that no other group puts out better teaser images than After School but this week I found something better than the AS teaser picture: the AS teaser video. What makes it so good you ask? Well, it's got pole dancing and a lot of Nana. Is it June 13th yet?
Ivy Coming Back with J.Y. Park
I've read a lot of fan chatter recently on the how JYP Entertainment and J.Y. Park are not as relevant as they used to be so the news that Ivy is making her comeback with a song from him might not mean much. But for an older guy like me, it's pretty cool news. Going back to Uhm Jung Hwa's "Invitation" and Park Ji Yoon's "Coming of Age Ceremony", J.Y. Park has had a knack for writing hits for sexy, female vocalists and Ivy certainly fits the mold so I'm looking forward what The Asiansoul has up his sleeve. By the way, Ivy was on 'SNL Korea' this weekend and had a hilarious digital short that basically mocked the fact that she unfortunately has a lot of haters. The skit is saying that she encourages the anti-fans because she made a deal with a kind of fortune teller that in order to stay young, she had to make some sacrifices.

This just proves my theory that in order to land a girl as amazingly hot as Lee Min Jung, you have to be Lee Byung Hun.

A Few Non-K-pop Related Things
1. It's going to be a 9 month wait until season 4 of 'Game of Thrones'. This won't be easy.
2. Singer Charice is in the news after coming out of the closet and opening up about her sexuality. Does everyone remember that she basically got her original break from 'Star King'? That appearance led to 'The Ellen Show' booking her and the rest, as they say, is history.
3. I am so geeked up about the 'Man of Steel' opening this weekend, it's embarrassing.
4. Ditto for 'Pacific Rim', 'Elysium', and 'The Kings of Summer'... and I can't lie, I read the original trilogy for The Mortal Instruments (please don't ask why) and I am debating whether I should watch or not because the actor cast in Jace's role is so not who I imagined.
Top 5 Current Girl Groupers
1. IU - Staying at the top of the list with another strong performance in her drama. *Warning: entering geek mode*: By the way, Lee Mi Sook's character is really starting to annoy me. So delusional! I mean, what proof is there that Soon Shin is even her kid?! No tests, no research... just assumed that she is because of a red scarf?!! *Geek mode over*
2. Taeyeon - Girls Generation is in the middle of a world tour (so far Korea and Taiwan only) and so we're getting some cool tour pics. Keep'em coming!
3. Nana - I feel that the Picture of the Week and After School promo video kind of states my case here.
4. Woori - She is my favorite idol to watch eat and this week on 'Star King' wasn't a disappointment taking down some spicy foods along the way.
5. UEE/Hyori - Hyori is technically a former girl grouper but The Hyori Effect is well underway after her addition to the show 'Barefoot Friends'. One thing she has done is bring UEE out of her shell a little and be a little more fun. Love it.
Song of the Week
Summer is back and nobody does summer music better than K-pop so I thought I'd bring back a summer classic, Myung-Ca Drive's 2009 smash hit, "Naengmyun" (yay)!!
