The Korea Communications Standards Commission (KOCSC) has fined tvN's 'SNL Korea' because of the show's portrayal of violence towards children.
During an episode which originally broadcasted on March 16, one of the comedy sketches featured Yoo Se Yoon with children. At one point, he threw a soccer ball at a child's head, cursing, "Do you know how to pass? Do you not know? If you got it, run, you little sh*ts." At another point, he kicked and punched small children while he was participating in a pillow fight. He instructed the children to steal from a store and high-fived them as they ran away. The sketch also featured children looking under women's skirts.
The KOCSC held a conference about his episode on the 23rd and decided that the episode could have effected the child actors in a negative manner. The committee decided that out of the 'regulations of broadcast', the 1st article of the 45th chapter (directing), the 2nd article of the 26th chapter (respect for life), the 28th chapter (proper lifestyle), along with the 2nd article of the 27th chapter (maintaining class) were violated, and fined the show 10,000,000 KRW (approximately $8,860 USD).
