Detailed numbers of Rain's vacation days have been revealed, causing more criticism to arise for the singer.
Rain began his service as a member of the Defense Media Agency of the Ministry of National Defense in March of 2012. For the 300 days in the Defense Media Agency, he took 17 stand-down days, 10 unofficial overnight stays, and 44 official overnight leaves for a total of 71 vacation days, which averages out to a day off every 4.22 days.
According to the government, he took 25 days off to record music out of the 44 official overnight leaves. However, he was not accompanied by any of his superiors, and for many days he did not even return when he was supposed to. A government representative said, "There were many cases where he recorded late at night because it is very expensive to use the recording studio during the day. However, these issues were raised last year, and since October we have been forbidding overnight stays in Seoul."
Also, before his transfer to the Defense Media Agency, Rain served 150 days in the regular army and it was reported that he took 25 days off during that time frame. With this added number, he took 94 total days off out of the 450 total days he was in the military. So far, he has not used up his 3 official vacation days.
Currently, his case is being further investigated. Rain has currently halted all activities and is on standby.
