Singer and producer J.Y. Park who has made his big-screen acting debut through new film '5 Million Dollar Man' has expressed his support for the movie.
The VIP Premiere for '5 Million Dollar Man' (directed by Kim Ik Ro) was held in Seoul July 12th. A press conference was held after the preview with Director Kim, along with J.Y. Park, Min Hyo Rin, Cho Hwe Bong, Oh Jung Sae, and more.
When asked which side of himself he finds more attractive, as a singer or an actor, J.Y. Park responded, "As of right now, I am less-embarrassed as an artist, most likely because that's something I have been doing for the past 18 years. But because I'm trying my hand at acting in a movie for the first time, I am quite embarrassed. When I listen to songs like "Don't Leave Me" and "Behind You" from my first album which became hits, I know that I couldn't sing that well back then but there was some good to those times as well. This movie is extremely embarrassing, but it is my first project, and the sides of me that shine through this movie will probably become treasurable in the future."
He continued, "Filming movies are so much fun, I would like to continue to do so. The fun in acting and singing are very similar. The process of believing a lie and getting others to believe it too is very similar."
When asked why he did not have a love scene with Min Hyo Rin, J.Y. Park responded, "I don't understand why we were not given such a scene. The director and the writer remarked that the public would not want to see such a thing. I hope I am blessed with that kind of scene in the future."
'5 Million Dollar Man' opens in theaters July 19th.
