On the May 29th episode of KBS 2TV's 'Win Win', BoA revealed her popularity among agencies before her debut.

BoA shared, "When I was in the [final year] of elementary school, I attended a dance competition at a local department store with one of my older brothers who was an active b-boy at the time. Although I couldn't participate because I was too young, I got to go on stage and dance for the supporting guest ceremony. Afterwards, I received business cards from 15 agencies."

"I signed a contract with SM Entertainment in elementary school and started my trainee period. I commuted by bus and subway for 2 hours everyday by myself to go from my home in Nam Yang Ju, Gyeonggido to Kangnam, Seoul where the company office was."

"Because the definition of a trainee was fairly unknown at the time, I was embarrassed to tell my friends about it and trained quietly."

BoA also revealed the truth behind the $3 million investment from SM Entertainment that went into her debut.
