allkpop TV Guide and Ratings (12/04-12/10)

Welcome to another week of 'allkpop TV guide and Ratings', an exclusive feature that spotlights three popular Korean dramas. It will discuss ratings for each week's episodes, as well as provide brief recaps (with spoilers, so watch out!) of shows that we know allkpop readers are enjoying. We've got the three regular shows being recapped for this week — 'Deep-Rooted Tree' (starring Shin Se Kyung, Jang Hyuk, and Super Junior's Kim Kibum) and 'Man of Honor' (starring Park Min Young and Chun Jung Myung), as well as tvN's romantic comedy, 'Flower Boy Ramyun Shop' (starring Jung Il Woo, Lee Chung Ah, and Lee Ki Woo). [Note: We will not be including 'Flower Boy Ramyun Shop' in the ratings recap as it is a cable show and therefore has different standards for ratings.] ———– The Monday-Tuesday time slot saw SBS's 'Thousand Day Promise' (featuring Soo Ae and Kim Rae Won) keep its hold on first place, even though its ratings dipped for this week. However, 15.6% still gave SBS the field, as MBC and KBS both aired new shows last week. In fact, it's highly likely that 'Thousand Day Promise' will be able to keep first place as it concludes its broadcast. Meanwhile, MBC's 'Light and Shadow' is stepping up its game as it gained a 9% rating against KBS's 'Brain'. The two new dramas will most likely be strong rivals as their respective plot lines gets thicker.

As for the Wednesday-Thursday lineup, SBS's 'Deep-Rooted Tree' broke the 20% mark with a 20.2% rating. The drama has a solid grip over this time slot, and it's likely that its hold will increase; not only is the mystery starting to unfold, but viewers won't go anywhere since they'll be curious to see if SBS will hit the superior 30% mark. In comparison, KBS saw sluggish improvement with its series 'Man of Honor', which managed to rise a bit from its 14.5%. As for MBC's 'I'm a Flower Too', it once again fell to last place with a low rating of 6.1%, a mark that's sure to dismay its fans even more after news abounded about how the series would lose an episode. ———– [ Here be spoilers ]           !!!!! ———– ?
