Actor Jung Woo Sung has recently been spotted in Beijing, China — and his appearance is sparking both fan excitement and speculation about a potential shift in the Korea-China entertainment landscape.

According to News1 on April 3rd, Jung traveled to Beijing as a co-founder of Artist Company, which he established with long-time friend and actor Lee Jung Jae. The two reportedly held meetings with key figures in the Chinese entertainment industry, including representatives from a major Alibaba-affiliated company.
The visit has fueled anticipation over a possible easing of the Hallyu (Korean Wave) ban in China, often referred to as the “Hanhanryeong.” Industry insiders believe the duo discussed potential Korea-China film collaborations, raising hopes for renewed cultural exchange between the two countries.
Their presence hasn’t gone unnoticed online. Fan sightings of Jung Woo Sung and Lee Jung Jae have rapidly circulated on Chinese social media platform Weibo. The two were even seen at a cigar bar alongside top Chinese actress Zhou Dongyu, drawing further attention.

This marks Jung Woo Sung’s first high-profile public appearance since his extramarital child scandal broke in November last year. At the time, he confirmed that he had a son with model Moon Ga Bi, shocking fans and the public alike. While the two are not married, Jung stated he would take full responsibility as a father, a statement that earned both criticism and support.
Jung is also set to return to the screen later this year in the Disney+ global series 'Made in Korea', signaling a professional comeback amid personal scrutiny.
