Actor Lee Dong Wook has caught public attention with a timely message to fans following the Constitutional Court’s historic ruling to remove President Yoon Suk Yeol from office.

On the morning of April 4th, just shortly after the court delivered its unanimous verdict at 11:22 a.m., Lee greeted fans through the fan communication app Bubble, writing, “Ah… it finally feels like spring. The winter was so long.” He continued, “It was supposed to rain today, but it’s so clear out. Since the weather’s nice, go out and enjoy yourselves. Have a great Friday night.”

While his message appeared to be a simple reference to the weather, many fans quickly interpreted it as a symbolic nod to the day’s political shift — especially considering the timing. The phrase “It finally feels like spring” resonated with those who saw the impeachment decision as a new beginning after a long, turbulent period.
Lee Dong Wook had previously shown quiet support for political expression. During fan-led rallies calling for impeachment, he shared Girls’ Generation’s “Into the New World” — a song often associated with protests — via social media, saying it was to cheer on fans braving the cold. In an interview promoting his 2023 film 'Harbin', he explained, “It wasn’t pressure. I simply wanted to support fans who were out there in the freezing weather.”
Currently, Lee is starring in the tvN Monday-Tuesday drama 'Divorce Insurance', continuing his run as one of Korea’s most beloved actors.
