Major entertainment labels in Korea, China, and Japan will be coming together to produce a male idol group specifically targeting the global market. Loen Entertainment revealed, "On August 2nd, Yamaha A&R, CNR Media, and Loen Entertainment all signed a contract for the co-production of a male idol group who won't just be for the Chinese market, but for the global market." For the next year, the three companies will be collaborating in funding, developing, and training their own male idol group. Loen Entertainment is home to artists like IU and Sunny Hill, while Yamaha A&R is a subsidiary of Yamaha Music Entertainment. The label has been producing and distributing music of a variety of genres, so they will be in charge of the group's Japanese management and marketing. CNR Media, which is home to SS501's Park Jung Min, is the joint company between Comic Ritz (the producers of Taiwan's 'Boys Over Flowers') and Roy Media. Like Yamaha, CNR Media will be in charge of the group's management and marketing in China. CEO Shin Won Soo of Loen Entertainment said, "We're anticipating the synergistic effect of our company with Yamaha A&R and CNR Media in creating an artist fit for the global market. We're confident that this contract will become the foundation of future global joint ventures." Source + Photos: Newsen
