Singer Go Young Wook shared a personal story of how he experienced hard times after his group, Roo'ra, disbanded in 2001. Appearing as a guest on KBS's "I Received an Order from a Hero", Go Young Wook revealed, "In 1994, I debuted as a Roo'ra member. With our second album, "The Angel Who Lost Wings", we sold over 1,800,000 copies and dominated the music industry. During that time, when we were asked to perform at festivals, they sent us a helicopter for us to ride in." Pointing to his close friend Tak Jae Hoon, Go Young Wook slyly stated, "During Tak Jae Hoon's rookie years, he gave me his newly-bought car." But Go Young Wook grew solemn as he explained, "However, after the disbandment of Roo'ra, I had a hard time. I had to sell the car and even the instruments that I owned." He also revealed that after the disbandment, his career was in a slump. Fortunately, he was able to recover once he came on MBC's "Radio Star". Though Go Young Wook was able to enjoy a happy end to his troubles, his story serves as a sobering reminder for his industry juniors that fame doesn't always last forever.
