Lee Sung Jin of NRG fame was at his first court hearing in Seoul today for issues concerning fraudulent gambling. The former idol appeared at court with two representatives from his management agency. Despite his attempts to conceal his identity by wearing a hat and a hoodie, reporters recognized the singer. Lee was said to have admitted to charges of illegal gambling, but he denied accusations that he cheated or rigged games. Lee has apparently racked up about $170,000 worth of gambling loans in a Philippine casino during the past 6 months. He refuses to pay the loan amount, which is why he is being tried before a criminal court rather than a simple civil court. The jury stated, "Because he did not wish to pay the gambling debt in civil court, we are settling the conflict as a criminal case and we are deciding whether there needs to be a penalty for fraudulent gambling." Investigations on Lee started 7 months ago, but were abandoned due to lack of evidence. Is it just me or are readers experiencing a bit of déjŕ vu? Source: Naver
