Due to excessive nudity and explicit sex scenes, the movie Penthouse Elephant has yet to be given a rating by the Korean censorship board. In addition, the trailer has attracted a lot of attention as it features the late Jang Ja Yun in several intimate scenes. The late Jang Ja Yun who had committed suicide in March 2009, plays an aspiring actress in Penthouse Elephant and is one of many women who has a fling with a plastic surgeon played by Jo Dong Hyuk. They have a lot of intimate scenes on the bed, inside the car, etc as seen in the trailer below. And strangely enough, Jang Ja Yun's character choses to commit suicide at the end in the movie, mirroring reality. The production company for Penthouse Elephant expressed, "Although the final cut for the movie hasn't been completed, we will not be editing out Jang Ja Yun's intimate scenes with Jo Dong Hyuk. Although this is a very sensitive issue and some may see it as us trying to cash in on her death, but Jo Dong Hyuk plays an important role in the movie. His scenes with the late Jang Ja Yun are really important for the story to flow. But things are subjected to change until we finish the post-production work." Penthouse Elephant which stars Jang Hyuk, Jo Dong Hyuk, Lee Sang Woo, Lee Min Jung, Jang Ja Yun, etc will open in cinemas in November.
