Blockbuster film 'The Omniscient Reader' (also known as 'The Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint') has confirmed its summer release.
Adapted from a popular web novel series of the same name, 'The Omniscient Reader' follows the story of a man who was the sole reader of a fantasy web novel which has been serialized for 10 years. On the day of its conclusion, the events of the web novel begin occurring in real life. The "omniscient reader", Kim Dok Ja (played by Ahn Hyo Seop), then meets the novel's main character, Yoo Joong Hyuk (played by Lee Min Ho), and thus begins their struggle for survival in an apocalyptic world.
In the launching trailer, released on February 15 KST, a speeding metro suddenly comes to a stop while crossing a bridge over the Han river, aligning exactly with the beginning of a certain web novel. A recording announces, "Free service for planetary system 8612 has concluded," signaling the beginning of the end of the world.
Also starring Chae Soo Bin, Shin Seung Ho, Nana, and Jisoo, 'The Omniscient Reader' is set to stun viewers with its unpredictable world and storyline once it hits theaters in July.
