"Cobweb” starring Song Kang Ho and Krystal Jung confirmed for cinema release during the Chuseok Holiday

The highly-anticipated film "Cobweb," featuring Song Kang Ho and Krystal Jung, is set to debut in Korean theaters this Chuseok holiday.

Having garnered attention for its invitation to the 76th Cannes International Film Festival (2023) in a non-competitive category, "Cobweb" has officially announced its Chuseok release, accompanied by the release of teaser posters and a preview.

It is known that when it was first introduced to global audiences at the Cannes Film Festival, “Cobweb” received enthusiastic applause and a standing ovation lasting 12 minutes, demonstrating a high level of approval.

Cobweb” revolves around director Kim (played by Song Kang Ho), who is obsessed over the fact that the ending of the 1970s movie “Cobweb,” would be better if it were refilmed. It depicts the various events that unfold while filming under conditions.

Regardless of the 1970s or the present, the teaser poster of “Cobweb” captures the back view of director Kim, who is always at the film set, sitting on a director’s chair with his name on it. The caption “It becomes a masterpiece if you re-film only the ending” arouses curiosity about the story.

In addition to the sense of responsibility and weight that any director must bear, the teaser also portrays the determination of actor Song Kang Ho, who played director Kim, towards creating a masterpiece.

Meanwhile, the trailer of “Cobweb” showcases the cast members’ splendid acting performances, as well as reveals more about the story. Starting with director Kim’s dream sequence in black and white, where he imagines the new ending of the 1970s film “Cobweb”, the preview is filled with desire for a masterpiece.

Amidst the unexpected adverse conditions that he wants to re-shoot in just two days, unpredictable fun was also promised.

At the same time, footage of director Kim shouting “Cut, okay” and adapting to the changed script, Min Mi (played by Lim Soo Jung) and Mrs. Oh (played by Park Jung Soo) giving veteran-like performances despite script changes, Mi Do (played by Jeon Yeo Been) and Yu Rim (played by Krystal Jung) suddenly engaging in a physical fight, and Ho Se (played by Oh Jung Se) suddenly rushing onto the set, was shown, revealing the characters’ unpredictable nature and keeping anticipation high.

Additionally, the ensemble of actors becoming each other’s best partners adds more reason to anticipate “Cobweb” on the big screen.
