An amusing incident occurred when Eric, a member of the group The Boyz, accidentally mistook condoms for Pepero sticks and posted the photo on social media.
On November 11th, in celebration of Pepero Day, Eric posted a handwritten letter to his fans along with a photo of what he believed to be Pepero.
He captioned it, “I could buy 4.03 million Pepero sticks for The Bs (The Boyz fandom name) I love.”
However, the Pepero he purchased turned out to be condoms designed to resemble Pepero packaging, created as a special event product for Pepero Day by a convenience store and a condom manufacturer. Known as “LOVE DAY 11.11,” this limited-edition condom product was available only through November 11th.
Upon realizing his mistake, Eric humorously addressed fans through a fan communication app, saying, “Happy Pepero Day! Honestly, I’m so embarrassed right now that I want to hide for a week.”
As controversy arose over a condom design resembling Pepero, the manufacturer Barun Saenggak issued an apology.
