Singer BIBI (Kim Hyungseo)’s new song ‘BURN IT’ has been deemed unsuitable by KBS music review ahead of its release.
According to IZE on November 13th, KBS’s November 12th music review results (dated November 13th) revealed that BIBI’s song ‘BURN IT’ was deemed unsuitable for broadcast. The song, part of BIBI’s double single ‘Derre’, received the decision due to lyrics containing “profanity, slang, and vulgar expressions.”
When a song is ruled unsuitable by KBS’s music review, the artist has the option to modify or remove the problematic elements and reapply for review. Only songs that pass the review can be aired on KBS programs, including TV and radio.
BIBI’s double single ‘Derre’, featuring ‘BURN IT’, is scheduled for release on the 14th. ‘BURN IT’ is a unique R&B track featuring Dean, while the title track ‘Derre’ is a danceable R&B song with BIBI’s alluring voice. The ‘Derre’ music video gained attention with an appearance by actress Jeon Jong-seo.
In addition to the upcoming release, BIBI is also active as an actress, appearing in SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama ‘The Fiery Priest 2’, which premiered on November 8th. She also appears in Disney+’s original series ‘Gangnam B-Side’, attracting further interest.
In the latest KBS music review, three of 198 reviewed songs were deemed unsuitable, with one song placed on hold. Besides BIBI’s ‘BURN IT’, AB6IX’s Jeon Woong’s ‘PIXEL’ and OLNL’s ‘finstagram’ were also deemed unsuitable for similar reasons, with lyrics containing “profanity, slang, and vulgar expressions.”
