J.Y. Park expressed his deep concern for former Wonder Girls member Sohee.
JYP Entertainment founder J.Y. Park appeared as a special guest on the latest episode of the YouTube variety show 'Salon Drip 2' and opened up about his philosophy on relationships.
The conversation began when host Jang Do Yeon mentioned that there is no hierarchy within JYP Entertainment company. She asked, "You're the current CEO, the head producer, and artist of JYP. I heard that everyone calls you just Mr. Park Jin Young to maintain an equal relationship within the company. But the youngest employee of the company would be in their early 20s."
J.Y. Park confirmed and explained, "Yes, it's true. If I'm far away, they just call me Mr. Park Jin Young." He revealed that he doesn't like being addressed too formally and elaborated, "I like being called Jinyoung, like in the U.S. I like 'J.Y.' the best. Sohee still calls me J.Y."
He added, "People might say, but you should still keep the boundary but it doesn't matter to me." J.Y. Park explained, "I wish there were no barriers because of age. Because for me, I want people to seek me when they're down or having a hard time. I want people to be comfortable with me. That's so important."
Upon hearing this, Jang Do Yeon wondered if people come to him for dating advice to which J.Y. Park replied, "Of course. I gave a lot of dating counseling since the time with Park Ji Yoon. Even Rain. Everyone."
Surprised, Jang Do Yeon asked, "Even Rain? Did he come to you when he was dating Kim Tae Hee?" and J.Y. Park answered, "Of course, he asked me for dating advice." Jang Do Yeon noted that there must be a reason people constantly come to J.Y. Park for dating advice and it must be because he gives good ones. J.Y. Park revealed, "I get completely immersed. I get totally empathetic. So I can't provide this service to everyone."
He revealed the one person at the top of his list who receives dating counseling from him is Sohee. Jang Do Yeon recalled, "I remember you saying Sohee needs to meet a good man."
J.Y. Park continued to express concern for the idol-turned-actress and with a deep sigh, he confessed, "She's on the top of my list of the people I'm most worried about." He continued, "She has a big heart when you see her take care of her dad, but she's so naive when it comes to dating. So she doesn't know when she's being treated poorly by a bad guy."
He shared, "She talked with me a few days ago so I thought she improved but..." and gave out another deep sigh, bringing laughter to the studio.
