Actor Song Jae Rim tragically passed away at the age of 39, and tributes from his entertainment industry colleagues continue to pour in.
On November 12th KST, news of Song Jae Rim’s passing was reported. According to the Seoul Seongdong Police Station, Song was found deceased at his home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, around 12:30 PM that day. A friend who had planned to have lunch with him visited his residence and found him, subsequently notifying the police. A police representative stated, “So far, no criminal suspicions such as foul play have been identified.” It was also confirmed that a note was found at the scene.
Upon hearing the news, fellow celebrities expressed their grief. Actor Lee El posted on her Instagram story, writing, “I’m sorry, Jae Rim.” Singer Kil Gun shared, “I pray you find happiness there; I pray for your peace.”
Actress Yoo Sun, who appeared with Song in the movie Hello and the drama Our Gab Soon, also posted a photo of them together, saying, “Jae Rim, I feel such sadness and pain; I hope you find peace.”
Kim Ji Woo, who had starred alongside Song in the musical 'Rose of Versailles', shared a photo with him and wrote, “May your long journey be peaceful, and I hope we can meet with smiles again, Jae Rim.”
Broadcaster Jang Sung Kyu added his condolences, saying, “Although I never had the chance to know you personally, I feel a great sorrow as a fellow industry member. Rest in peace.”
In addition, many others in the industry, including Hong Suk Chun, Park Ho San, Kim Min Kyo, Lee Yoon Ji, and Ahn Young Mi, mourned his passing and paid tribute.
Song’s funeral will be held at the Yeouido St. Mary’s Hospital Funeral Hall in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, with the service scheduled for noon on November 14th KST.
