BTS’s Jungkook has achieved another milestone as his solo track “Seven” was ranked number one on an American magazine’s list of the 'Best K-Pop and Rap Collaborations of All Time.'
The U.S. culture magazine Complex, recently released its top 15 list of standout collaborations between Korean artists and international rappers. Jungkook’s solo single “Seven,” featuring American rapper Latto, claimed the top spot.
Complex commented, “It’s hard to imagine a more effective K-pop and rap collaboration than this,” adding, “Jungkook delivered a witty portrayal of the desire to be with his lover every day with his powerful vocals, while Latto showcased energetic and catchy lyrics.” The magazine also pointed to Jungkook’s expressive vocals, Latto’s feature, the trendy sound, and the clever concept as key elements behind the track’s success.
“Seven,” Jungkook’s debut solo single, entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart at number one and remained on the chart for 15 weeks, proving its massive popularity.
The track also achieved outstanding success on other Billboard charts, holding the number one spot on the 'Global Excl. U.S.' chart for 9 consecutive weeks and on the 'Global 200' for 7 consecutive weeks. It set a new record as the first song ever to spend 7 weeks simultaneously at number one on both charts—a feat unmatched by any other Asian artist.
Meanwhile, on March 28, Jungkook made a generous donation to support victims of wildfires in the Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam regions. He contributed 1 billion KRW(~ 681,385 USD) to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association.
