Actress Park Gyu Young, who has been embroiled in controversy over an alleged 'Squid Game 3 spoiler,' has canceled her scheduled airport fashion media appearance.
According to Herald POP's report on January 9, Park Gyu Young canceled the fashion coverage event set at Incheon International Airport due to scheduling conflicts, not because of the ongoing drama-related controversy. While media coverage was originally planned at the airport, the session was canceled, and Park Gyu Young will depart without holding any interviews.
The controversy began when Park Gyu Young uploaded a photo to her personal social media, which many interpreted as a potential spoiler for the Netflix series 'Squid Game 3.' The photo, which appeared to be a casual snapshot during a filming break, drew attention when the identity of the actor standing next to her sparked speculation that it might reveal a key scene from the upcoming season.
Although Park Gyu Young quickly deleted the post, it had already spread across online communities and was picked up by news outlets. In response, her agency, Saram Entertainment, issued a brief statement, "Since it was a post on the actress’s personal social media, we cannot confirm the details. We ask for your understanding and encourage you to check by watching Squid Game 3."
However, this response led some netizens to assume that the post was indeed a spoiler, fueling criticism of Park Gyu Young for her carelessness.
Park Gyu Young previously gained attention for her role as Kang No Eul in 'Squid Game 2.' Though many believed she would appear as a contestant, she surprised viewers when it was revealed she was hired as a "pink guard," adding an unexpected twist. While her role increased her recognition, the unintentional post has now sparked a global spoiler controversy.
With Squid Game 3 set to release later this year, all eyes are on whether the speculated scene from Park Gyu Young’s photo will prove to be accurate.
