JTBC’s upcoming drama 'One Hundred Memories' (written by Yang Hee Seung and directed by Kim Sang Ho) has officially confirmed its cast, including Kim Da Mi, Shin Ye Eun, and Heo Nam Joon.
'One Hundred Memories' is a retro youth melodrama set in the 1980s, depicting the friendship between Go Young Rye and Seo Jong Hee, two bus conductors on the “100 Bus,” and the bittersweet first love they share with Han Jae Pil, a fated figure in their lives. The drama promises to deliver laughter, empathy, and emotional depth as it revisits the unforgettable memories of youth, even if those times were humble and challenging.
The production reunites acclaimed writer Yang Hee Seung, known for her works such as 'Crash Course in Romance,' 'Once Again,' 'Familiar Wife,' and 'Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo,' with director Kim Sang Ho, praised for his skillful depiction of life’s bittersweet ups and downs in 'Thirty-Nine.'
Kim Da Mi, who captivated audiences in 'Our Beloved Summer,' returns to the small screen as Go Young Rye, the exemplary 100 Bus conductor for Cheong-A Transportation. Despite suffering from motion sickness, she boards the bus daily to support her family while chasing her dream of attending university. Outwardly, she appears diligent, intelligent, and empathetic, but when provoked, she becomes unstoppable. Known for relentlessly pursuing fare evaders to the very end, her nickname is "Subtly Crazy." With her unique acting style, Kim Da Mi is expected to bring yet another unforgettable character to life.
Shin Ye Eun, who left a strong impression in 'The Glory' and 'Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born,' takes on the role of Seo Jong Hee, a charismatic and lively bus conductor who dreams of escaping her difficult family circumstances. Upon joining Cheong-A Transportation, she forms a shining friendship with Young Rye. With her confident, fearless demeanor and infectious charm, Seo Jong Hee’s character is a perfect fit for Shin Ye Eun’s natural charisma, making fans excited for another career-defining role.
Rising star Heo Nam Joon, known for his captivating gaze and unique presence, plays Han Jae Pil, the son of a department store owner and Young Rye and Jong Hee’s fated first love. Despite his privileged "golden spoon" background and princely appearance, Jae Pil carries deep emotional scars and is navigating his own stormy youth. Heo Nam Joon is expected to channel a James Dean-esque rebelliousness, maximizing his unique appeal as he embodies the role.
'One Hundred Memories' is set to air in the second half of this year.
