On January 31 KST, Mnet's upcoming dance battle program 'World of Street Woman Fighter' unveiled a behind-the-scenes teaser, introducing the potential members of 'Team Korea'.
Previously, Mnet announced the return of 'Street Woman Fighter' with its newest season, featuring female dance crews representing various countries from around the world. Following the announcement, many fans wondered who would be competing as Korea's representative.
In the latest teaser, the 8 leaders of 'Street Woman Fighter' season 1 including Monika, Honey J, Aiki, Ri.hey, Hyojin Choi, Gabi, No:ze, and Leejung gathered for a meeting with the Mnet production crew. When the leaders heard that the new season would feature a competition between global crews, everyone showed interest in participating.
Next, the 8 members of 'Team Korea' voted on who would be their leader. At first, Aiki received the most votes for her life experience as a mother, but Aiki herself declined the position, citing pressure as her reason. Some also felt that Leejung would make a strong leader with her ability to communicate in English. The oldest members of the crew, Monika and Honey J, both insisted that they did not wish to be leaders, but followers this time around.
Meanwhile, toward the end of the teaser, the program also referenced Monika's pregnancy news from December of last year. One of the other members asked, "What's going to happen with Monika?", leaving the question of Monika's participation in 'World of Street Woman Fighter' unanswered for the time being.
Notably, if the leaders of 'Street Woman Fighter' season 1 return as members of 'Team Korea' for 'World of SWF', dancer No:ze will be resuming her broadcast activities for the first time in approximately 2-years.
Mnet's 'World of Street Woman Fighter', a fierce dance battle between dance crews representing all corners of the globe, premieres in May of 2025.
