BTS and their agency, BIGHIT MUSIC, have expressed their condolences for the victims of the Jeju Air tragedy.
On December 30th, BIGHIT MUSIC shared a statement through their official account, stating, "We extend our deepest condolences and sympathies to the victims of the aviation accident and their families."
The agency further announced that "The release of some content, including Episode 16 of 'Run Jin,' originally scheduled for this week, has been postponed." 'Run Jin' is a BTS content series featuring member Jin.
This decision comes in the wake of the Jeju Air tragedy that occurred on December 29th. At 9:03 AM, Jeju Air flight 7C2216 from Bangkok, Thailand, attempted to land at Muan International Airport in South Jeolla Province. The accident resulted in 179 fatalities out of 181 passengers, with only two survivors.
The tragedy has prompted nationwide mourning, with many expressing condolences for the victims and their families. The entertainment industry has also responded by canceling or postponing events, including year-end awards shows, film premieres, and song promotions, to honor the victims.
