Brown Eyed Girls' Ga In appeared on 2AM member Seulong’s web variety show, where she mentioned plans for a new album.
On April 11, a video titled "Im Seulong’s GirlsOngTop | 4th guest GA IN shares laughs, tears, and memories on OngStyle" was uploaded to Im Seulong’s YouTube channel, OngStyle.
In the video, Seulong and Ga In have an in-depth conversation about their life and friendship. Seulong started the conversation on what Ga In had been up to lately by asking what she had been up to while being off camera. When Ga In opened up about her hiatus by saying, “I haven’t told anyone this,” Seulong acknowledged the long break in their communication by responding, “We haven’t been in touch for years.”
Ga In shared, “I went through some incidents, and both mentally and physically, I wasn’t well. Depression, insomnia, panic disorder. Those kinds of things are pretty common in our line of work, right? Because of that, I ended up spending a lot of time at home.”

She continued, “Right when I was on the verge of falling into a slump, my mom started running a store with six or seven employees. She dragged me out to the store. I said, ‘I can’t go, I can’t leave the house,’ especially because there were so many negative news articles about me at the time. I had vowed not to go out for a month, but my mom pulled me out the very next day.”
Ga In reflected, “Wow, that first week was tough. I knew the staff members must’ve read the articles and knew about me, so it was so hard to look them in the eyes and work together. But I ended up working almost every day, coming home exhausted, sleeping without even looking at my phone. Since I debuted young, I had never worked a part-time job, but suddenly I was answering calls, packing orders, and eventually, my mom started leaving me in charge of the store. She stopped showing up as much. So I had more responsibilities and started clocking out with the rest of the team.”
She expressed gratitude, saying, “That kind of discipline from my mom was exactly what I needed. I wonder what would’ve happened to me if she hadn’t done that. Just thinking about that time makes me tear up. I think my mom was struggling a lot behind the scenes, too. But in the end, it’s what saved me.”

Ga In also mentioned a moment when a customer recognized her while she was working at her part-time job. “I’m so grateful for that moment. If someone recognized me at the store, I would quietly ask, ‘Yes, it’s me, but please don’t mention it.’ And I’m still so thankful to the people who never said anything. There were so many who helped me work in peace.”
She also thanked the store staff. “Even the employees never mentioned working with me to anyone. I want to take this chance to thank them. I have so many people to be grateful for. The biggest thank-you goes to my mom. Without her, I don’t know how I would’ve endured those three years. When I was younger and doing well, I never really turned to her, but when things got hard, I reached out, and I feel sorry about that. That’s why I’m determined to be a better daughter from now on.”
Finally, Ga In shared her plans for a new album. She explained that she had been preparing for the album when Seulong reached out to her about his YouTube show. She elaborated, “Rather than saying a lot to my fans, I want to come back with what I do best: music. Instead of explaining too much, I want to return with a solid, high-quality album. While taking my time and preparing carefully, I got the offer to appear on your show.”
Seulong also explained why he invited Ga In and expressed his affection for their friendship. He shared, "I wanted to invite someone with whom I can talk most comfortably with. I've been doing that. I wanted to invite someone I'm close to and comfortable with. But honestly, after inviting you, I was worried, I thought 'Could this be a bit of a burden?'"
Ga In also shared, "That's why I contemplated a lot about it. I thought 'What should I do?' but then there were so many things I was thankful to you for." She continued, "There was a time, for more than a year, when I kept away from my phone for various reasons. One day, I checked my phone and saw so many messages from you. But those messages were as if nothing had happened. You messaged me saying 'Hey! Why aren't you replying?' But I couldn't reply."
Ga In explained that after some time, she reached out to Seulong and others, including Jo Kwon, and they both responded as usual. She said, "It felt like you guys knew (how I felt) even if I didn't explain. Because we understand each other even without words."
