The late singer and actress Sulli's older brother has publicly demanded clarification from Kim Soo Hyun's agency, which also produced the film 'Real,' bringing renewed attention to actor Jo Woo Jin's past remarks made during an interview for the movie.

Back on the June 27, 2017, broadcast of SBS’s 'Access Showbiz Tonight,' an interview with 'Real' cast members Kim Soo Hyun, Sulli, and Jo Woo Jin was aired. At the time, the film attracted attention for featuring Sulli’s first nude scene.

In the interview, when the reporter asked, “Did you sleep well last night?” Sulli responded, “Yes, I slept well.” Kim Soo Hyun then added, “You seem to be the most nervous.”

When the reporter asked for a brief introduction to the movie, Kim Soo Hyun replied, “In a word, it’s like a gift set.” He continued, “It took me over three hours to read the script the first time. After that, the script wouldn’t let me sleep. At first, I thought, ‘I’m going to take this on and crush it,’ but after filming 101 scenes, I was humbled.”

Jo Woo Jin also remarked, “You could really feel on set that Kim Soo Hyun was completely immersed in this film. This movie was 'of the Kim Soo Hyun, by the Kim Soo Hyun, for the Kim Soo Hyun'.”  Kim Soo Hyun, looking startled, responded, “Sunbae-nim, if you say it in that flat tone, it’s scary.” Jo Woo Jin then added that the most memorable character for him in the film was “Song Yoo Hwa,” played by Choi Jin Ri (Sulli), praising her acting despite her relatively smaller role compared to the lead.

Recently, on March 28, Sulli’s family released an official statement demanding explanations from Kim Soo Hyun and the film’s director, Lee Sa Rang, regarding several concerns: Why the bed scene with Kim Soo Hyun was not clearly outlined in the script; Why Sulli was allegedly forced to film nude and bed scenes despite a body double being present on set; Why the production falsely claimed Sulli was absent due to illness when she was scheduled to shoot those scenes.

According to the family, “These details were learned from the testimonies of the 'Real' production team and actors who attended Sulli’s funeral in 2019.”  

In response, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, issued a statement saying, “The nude scenes were agreed upon before casting, and SM Entertainment, her agency at the time, was aware of it.”

Sulli passed away on October 14, 2019, at the age of 25. During her lifetime, she endured numerous controversies and cyberbullying. In July 2014, when her relationship with Dynamic Duo's Choiza became public, she suffered from intense online harassment and rumors, prompting her to take a hiatus from the industry and eventually leave her group f(x) in 2015. After her death, MBC’s Docuplex aired a documentary including interviews with her mother, who had opposed the relationship with Choiza, sparking backlash and resulting in the suspension of the show’s replays.
