Ten-member boy group TREASURE kickstarted 2025 with their SPECIAL MINI ALBUM [PLEASURE] and their first US tour [SPECIAL MOMENT] — making it a truly special year for the group.

[PLEASURE], their first musical offering of 2025, is a four-song collection showcasing the lively title track "YELLOW" and the accompanying B-sides "SARURU", "WHATEVER, WHENEVER", and "LAST NIGHT". Adding their creative touch, ASAHI, CHOI HYUN SUK, YOSHI, and HARUTO participated in the songs' making process.

This month, the boys embarked on their US tour, spanning four cities: New York, Washington DC, Oakland, and Los Angeles.

allkpop: What do you hope to accomplish by the end of the year?

PARK JEONG WOO: Our goal for this year is to keep close to more of our fans and showcase new and different sides of TREASURE like those featured in our newest album.

JUNKYU: Just like what Jeongwoo said earlier, we've been working hard to show you the sides of TREASURE that keep progressing, so you can look forward to seeing them.

allkpop: What do you hope to convey with [PLEASURE], and what makes this mini-album particularly special?

ASAHI: In order to pay back all the love and support we received from our fans who love us, we specially strengthened our mental attitude in making it. So we hope you'd like it even more for that.

DOYOUNG: Yes, we think of our newest album as a gift-like album to be presented to our fans.

allkpop: Tell us more about the title track “YELLOW.” What's the story behind the name, and why did you choose it as the lead single?

YOSHI: It's a song portraying the world and heart getting imbued with various colors when falling in love. We figured that its warm lyrics and vibrant melody go well with this upcoming spring's excitement and hope, so we've chosen it as our title track.

allkpop: Can you share any memorable behind-the-scenes stories from the special mini-album production?

JUNKYU: It's new to see how, while preparing our latest album, there has been more communication within TREASURE and our agency, so I felt that TREASURE has been developing a lot.

CHOI HYUN SUK: The exact period in which we shot our music video was freezing cold. And during that period, it snowed, so we were all huddled up and shivering, having a hard time trying to shoot our music video. I recall how all our members would gather around shooting the video through the coldness.

allkpop: Since some members participated in the songwriting, can you walk us through your usual creative process, both as a group and individually? Do you typically begin with the melody or the lyrics?

ASAHI: I think it depends on the time, but in the case of YELLOW, we started to make the beats first and then the melody, no, the keywords, the melody, and the lyrics were created, in that order.

YOSHI: My take on it is similar in that it's a case by case issue, because when one's own song is written, either the chords or drums are decided first, but as for the keywords of such songs, quotes from movie characters that catch the ear or sound intriguing are always written down as keywords in memos and frequently sung perfectly in the songs.

allkpop: What have the past years been like for you being a member of TREASURE? Being in a group with 10 members with different opinions, what’s something you’ve learned from the journey?

CHOI HYUN SUK: We're incredibly tight-knit to the point of being like a family or a group of friends, and we're like-minded when we have conversations, so we're comfortable with one another, and we especially click well when we converse. While we converse, accept one another's opinions, and discuss them, better ideas are presented. And it seems that good songs are created through those ideas.

allkpop: In our previous interviews, you consistently expressed your love and gratitude for your fans. Is there a particular fan comment that you heard or you’ve seen on social media that has stuck with you most?

JIHOON: The chances for us to meet our fans are limited, as in concerts, fan meets, or signing events. Since it's so hard to meet them, some artists feel anxious that their fans would leave them during periods before a comeback, like in our case. But if our fans reassure us during those times by saying they will always be by our side, we can feel relieved and get motivated to focus more on preparing our album. And our hearts, filled with gratitude for that, become the driving force for us to work harder and make our next album be released with a higher quality.

YOON JAE HYUK: To be honest, we're constantly working hard at our various appearances and events regardless of whether we meet our fans by using their supportive words as motive power, so we'd like to convey how we're always filled with gratitude and love for you.

HARUTO: TREASURE members always read comments and letters from our fans, and I really wanted to say thank you to them for being our motivation and strength. Whenever I read comments like “I can laugh and gain energy thanks to TREASURE’s music” and “I could achieve something listening to TREASURE’s music”, I feel it was one of the best decisions to be TREASURE. Words cannot describe my sincere gratitude to TREASURE MAKER for giving us infinite love and support. I promise we’ll repay with better music and performance.

allkpop: Congratulations on your first US tour! What can your fans expect from it?

YOON JAE HYUK: We've prepared energetic performances featuring the charms exclusive to TREASURE. TREASURE is renowned for its performances and we've prepared an array of performances you'd like, so you need only get ready to have an exciting time, and we'll be grateful.
