TWICE’s Dahyun to make drama debut in ‘Love Me’
On November 5th KST, TWICE’s Dahyun was offered the role of Yoon Sol, a dance crew leader, in the upcoming drama 'Love Me'. Her character, Yoon Sol, is an outgoing and assertive individual who is surrounded by friends and knows exactly what she wants in both love and work.
'Love Me' is based on the Swedish drama of the same name and follows the journey of a woman who has wealth, fame, and looks but finds herself lacking in all other aspects. The series delves into her personal conflicts and explores themes of loneliness, love, and family struggles from an ordinary human perspective.
This role will mark Dahyun’s first official drama appearance. Earlier this year, Dahyun confirmed her role in the independent feature film 'Full Speed' and starred in her first lead role in the movie 'You Are the Apple of My Eye'. She was also invited to present 'You Are the Apple of My Eye' at the 29th Busan International Film Festival’s “Korean Cinema Today – Panorama” section, where she met with audiences as an actress.
Dahyun has been active as both a singer and actress. TWICE, celebrating their 10th debut anniversary this year, has produced numerous hit songs, including "TT", "Likey", "Feel Special", "YES or YES", "Signal", and "Knock Knock". Earlier in February, TWICE topped the Billboard 200 with their album 'With YOU-th' and drew 1.5 million fans during their fifth world tour, 'Ready to Be', which spanned 51 shows across 27 regions. They’re set to release a new album, 'Strategy', on December 6.
While other TWICE members, like Nayeon, Jihyo, and Tzuyu, have pursued solo music careers, Dahyun is the first to venture into acting full-time. Following her recent engagement with audiences in cinema, she now aims to connect with viewers through a drama series. Expectations are high for Dahyun’s portrayal of a dance crew leader in her drama debut, especially given her success as part of one of K-pop’s top girl groups.
