On October 30, G-Dragon appeared as a guest on tvN’s 'You Quiz on the Block' and spoke about his career and his latest pre-release single, marking his solo comeback in seven years.
During the episode, G-Dragon gave fans a sneak peek of his track “POWER” and candidly shared about his 11-year trainee journey, as well as his experience of being falsely accused of drug use, offering a rare, introspective glimpse into his life.
At one point, G-Dragon shared, “In 2026, we’ll hit our 20th anniversary. I feel so old...,” opening up about Big Bang. He added, “Recently, after watching Taeyang perform, I thought that if I put in my best effort, we might be able to do something special for our 20th anniversary. When else would I get the chance to celebrate 20 years with this team (Big Bang)?”
G-Dragon hinted at potential 20th-anniversary celebrations and comeback plans for Big Bang, garnering attention and excitement among fans. However, past Big Bang footage aired on 'You Quiz on the Block' notably excluded former members T.O.P and Seungri, focusing solely on G-Dragon, Daesung, and Taeyang.
The broadcast showed only these three members in performance clips, award acceptance speeches, and even music videos, with T.O.P and Seungri conspicuously absent.
In particular, T.O.P’s scenes from the “Haru Haru” music video were humorously replaced by a parody video from Infinite Challenge where Yoo Jae Suk played T.O.P’s role.
After being embroiled in the 'Burning Sun' scandal, Seungri, who was released from prison last year, has disappeared from the entertainment industry. T.O.P, who had previously announced his voluntary retirement following a marijuana-related incident, is set to return in December with a role in Netflix’s 'Squid Game Season 2,' drawing additional attention to his omission from 'You Quiz on the Block.'
Earlier, Netflix unveiled the cast lineup for Squid Game Season 2, including global stars such as Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Wi Ha Jun, Yim Si Wan, Kang Ha Neul, Park Sung Hoon, Yang Dong Geun, and T.O.P, alongside Park Gyu Young, Jo Yu Ri, and Lee Jin Wook.
News of T.O.P’s return to acting has sparked rumors and speculation, with some questioning his comeback as "being cast through connections."
Meanwhile, G-Dragon has focused on anti-drug advocacy, establishing the Just Peace Foundation. In contrast, T.O.P.’s continued interactions with critics online have fueled public discontent.
Recently, G-Dragon appeared alongside Taeyang to perform “Good Boy,” joined by Daesung, giving fans a glimpse of a “complete” Big Bang lineup and raising hopes for a potential comeback.
