TWICE’s Jihyo chooses ‘relationship hopping’ over ‘ghosting’ in breakup dilemma.
On October 8th KST, YouTube channel ‘ootb STUDIO’ aired the 8th episode of ‘Seibja,’ featuring TWICE’s Jihyo. The show explores guesthouses across the country, blending the excitement and charm of unfamiliar experiences with travel.
Visiting Yeosu for the first time, Jihyo asked the production crew if the locals in Yeosu use a regional dialect. This led to an impromptu dialect quiz, with Jihyo’s humorous and incorrect answers eliciting laughter.
Jihyo’s adventure in Yeosu included buying its famous strawberry rice cakes and heading to Daekyungdo for an eel shabu-shabu meal with the guesthouse owner. She also enjoyed some sea fishing, fully immersing herself in the experience.
Later, Jihyo joined the other guesthouse patrons for dinner, where the atmosphere was a bit awkward. To liven things up, the guesthouse owner suggested playing a balance game. The topic was "Would you prefer to be ghosted or experience a ‘relationship hopping’ breakup (when your partner moves on to someone else quickly)?".
Without hesitation, Jihyo chose the ‘relationship hopping’ breakup, explaining, “With ghosting, I wouldn’t even know we broke up, but at least with the other, I’d know it’s over.”
Another guest expressed a different view, saying, “I think ghosting is better. With ghosting, I don’t know who they moved on to, but with relationship hopping, I’d know.” The conversation grew more intense as the staff asked, “How long does it take for ghosting to count as a breakup?”
Another guest responded, “Why do you think there’s a TV show called ‘EXchange’? It’s clearly a thing.” Jihyo enthusiastically agreed, drawing attention to her strong stance on the matter.
