Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun praises Sooyoung’s Japanese debut song as a masterpiece.
On October 14th KST, Sooyoung’s YouTube channel ‘the sootory 더수토리’ released a video titled “Next guest: Seohyun SBN says: ‘This album is a masterpiece’”. The video featured Seohyun as a guest, showcasing her chemistry with Sooyoung.
In the video, Sooyoung played her debut Japanese single for Seohyun. Listening to it, Seohyun exclaimed, “It’s so good! I love it already. I’m curious when this will be released,” while excitedly hitting Sooyoung’s arm.
Seohyun, visibly moved, added, “I almost cried. I can feel how much effort you put into this.” Sooyoung responded, “I worked hard,” tearing up.
Seohyun continued her praise, “The quality of the song is amazing, even just listening to it. Our Japanese songs in Girls’ Generation always had a different feel compared to our Korean songs, and this has that vibe but also feels like a major evolution for you as a solo artist. I was really surprised.”
She added, “You’ve always been great, but this has a fresh vibe. After knowing you for 15-17 years, there are new elements in your vocals I hadn’t seen before. I could feel all the effort you put in, and I almost cried but thought ‘this isn’t the mood for that,’ so I held back.”
When Sooyoung mentioned how Tiffany also cried after hearing the song, she said, “I’m glad I worked hard. To get such praise from our maknae.” Seohyun, in turn, encouraged Sooyoung, saying, “You’re going to do really well. You should release a Korean version too; it’s too good to only be in Japan.”
In a humorous moment, Sooyoung noticed her manager crying and asked, “Why are you crying?” Seohyun joked, “Our manager must be an F (feeling type), whereas I’m a T (thinking type), so I got emotional for a bit but controlled it.”
Seohyun concluded the conversation by calling Sooyoung’s song a “masterpiece” and embraced her warmly, creating a touching moment.
