Actor Ahn Hyo Seop has been offered a role in the new drama 'A Night in Heaven', the latest project by director Yoon Jong Ho of 'Lovely Runner'.
Based off of the novel written by Hwang Gun Hee, 'A Night in Heaven' tells the story of a chaebol family and its secretive ties with the prostitution sector. At the heart of this scandalous storyline, a young woman who lives a cursed life for being the child of an extramarital affair finds love at a private hostess bar in Chungdam-dong.
Based on reports on October 31 KST, Ahn Hyo Seop has been offered a role as Chun Kook, a former taekwondo athlete who now works as the ace of a male hostess bar known as 'Ci Bel Homme'. Despite his good looks and strong, muscular physique, Chun Kook is buried in immense debt left to him by his stepmother, who took off with the life insurance money after the death of his father.
The news of Ahn Hyo Seop's casting in 'A Night in Heaven' is currently garnering mixed reactions from drama fans online, as many raised concerns over the topic of South Korea's illegal prostitution sector once again receiving the spotlight in a fictional production. Many also criticized the "outdated" storyline, while some even accused the drama industry of hidden intentions to "romanticize" the underground prostitution industry.
In response to the reports, Ahn Hyo Seop's label The Present Company stated, "'A Night in Heaven' is one of several projects for which Ahn Hyo Seop received an offer."
Meanwhile, Ahn Hyo Seop is scheduled to hold his 2024 solo fan meeting 'I Want To Say ( )' from November 9-10 at Hannam-dong Bluesquare Mastercard Hall.
