‘SyncroU’ teases chaos from its first episode.
KBS 2TV’s SyncroU is set to premiere on September 16 KST, and the first look at the impressive lineup and preview video of the first round performances has already raised anticipation.
SyncroU is a variety music show where top-tier “dream” artists perform cover songs in a stage with a 99% synchronization rate created by AI. Audiences must figure out which performances are real and which are AI-generated. The show’s pilot episode garnered attention with its emotionally moving cover performances and the intense challenge of identifying the 1% of real voices.
The first-round performances of SyncroU feature covers of Baek Ji Young’s “I Miss You”, Jannabi’s “With My Heart, I Have to Forget You”, Lee Seung Gi’s “Already a Sad Love”, Insooni’s “Addicted to Worry”, Lyn’s “Lie Lie Lie”, and Jay Park’s “Love Yourself”. Each cover revealed stirred excitement among the audience, who responded with cheers as each performance came with a surprising twist.
An 8-minute preview video showcased Baek Ji Young’s “I Miss You” performance, grabbing the audience’s full attention. Jonathan was impressed, exclaiming, “It feels like she’s really here!” Hoshi reacted to the difficulty of identifying the real artist by saying, “This is crazy. How are we supposed to guess this? I have no idea.” The performance of Jannabi’s “With My Heart, I Have to Forget You” left Lee Juk puzzled, saying, “If this is AI, it makes no sense.” As Lee Seung Gi’s “Already a Sad Love” performance filled the venue with emotion, Karina expressed her disappointment at the song being cut short, saying, “Why stop there?”
Among the highly anticipated performances was Insooni’s cover of “Addicted to Worry”, which captivated the panel, including Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Juk, Lee Yong Jin, Hoshi, Karina, and Jonathan. Yoo Jae Suk reacted with surprise, exclaiming, “Wait a minute!” while Lee Juk praised the cover, saying, “This cover is just amazing!”
With the mystery of whether Insooni is the real artist or AI, anticipation for SyncroU’s upgraded technology and high-quality performances continues to rise. The first episode promises a thrilling experience for viewers.
SyncroU premieres on September 16th at 6:40 PM during the Chuseok holiday, with subsequent episodes airing every Monday at 8:30 PM.
